The VSCA Junior League is a key part of our commitment to junior player development, in alignment with Cricket Victoria’s broader goal of growing the game at grassroots level. The league is designed to give boys and girls aged Under 10 to Under 16 regular match exposure in a safe, inclusive, and structured environment.

Developing Future Cricketers Through Structured Competition

Matches are played midweek on Wednesdays, providing a great balance between school, training, and competition. The league features two formats tailored to support different stages of player development:

T20 format focuses on game awareness, fielding intensity, quick decision-making, and building confidence through high participation and fast-paced action.

Two-day format offers a deeper learning experience, encouraging players to build innings, understand longer match strategies, and develop patience and discipline—essential skills for progressing into senior cricket.

All matches are played under the supervision of qualified umpires, with clubs encouraged to support players through coaching and mentoring. The league structure mirrors Cricket Victoria’s junior pathway model, providing opportunities for players to advance into representative cricket and beyond.

This program complements the VSCA Junior Cricket Academy and gives players the chance to apply their training in real game situations. It’s more than just matches and it’s about developing well-rounded cricketers who love the game, respect their teammates and opponents, and learn valuable life skills along the way.

Players can register through their local VSCA-affiliated clubs. We welcome all juniors, whether they are new to cricket or continuing their development journey.

Join us every Wednesday and take the next step in your cricket journey with the VSCA Junior League.
